This work is a projection of a perspective of life in Israel following the atrocities that occurred on October 7th. Portraits and photographs of people who have survived, lost their families and their loved ones, as well as being displaced from their homes, and are in search of coming to grips with the rapidly changing reality that they are facing. In addition, the collective gathering portrayed by the population during times of grief and their efforts to tread towards a better place.
Going through bereavement and overcoming the pain endured, people go through different stages until coming to terms with their complex reality—a never-ending cycle between the darkness and the light.
The photographer observed people's behaviour as a coping mechanism for trauma and chose to capture what he calls “Beyond the Darkness”. That is the conscious stage of bereavement, with ways to help, donate, support, and self-heal.
The photographer tries to capture the emotions of hurt and pain, yet also the feelings of protection and support, leading the path beyond the darkness
